Doris "Dee" Stjernholm was recently and unexpectedly promoted to Heaven at her home in Denver. She will be sorely missed by her Friends and Family.
Doris Fay "Dee" was born December 3, 1954 in La Junta, Colorado to her parents Ernest "Ernie" and Lois (Ridennoure) Stjernholm. She attended Elementary School and High School in Cheraw, CO where she was active in Sports and many other extracurricular activities including the Kids Rodeo. She loved animals and especially riding horses. She was also an outstanding student, graduating Valedictorian of her 1973 Class. She continued her education with a full ride Scholarship at Colorado College in Colorado Springs and earned a Degree in Music, graduating in 1978. She also got certified as a SCUBA diver and loved diving with the varied flora and fauna under the water.
Always a people person, Dee got involved in the Hospitality Industry and was a Bartender in downtown Denver during the "Oil Boom" of the 1970s. Eventually she fulfilled her Dream of having her own place, "Sweet Dees", in the heart of Denver. Dee was generous to a fault and was known for helping those who were down on their luck. She eventually closed her establishment due changing demographics, and eventually she took a position with a Driving School. She excelled at teaching young drivers the intricacies of driving in the big city and remained in that position for a number of years. She also became an Uber driver providing custom transportation services. She had recently retired and spent a lot of time at home with her dog, "Boomer", and her cat, "Sassy". She loved animals and they loved her. Her Generous Love will be treasured by all of her Family and Friends.
Dee was preceded in death by her grandparents, Esper & Lillie Stjernholm; grandparents, L.C. "Cuddle" & Etha “Lynn" Ridennoure; her father, Ernie Stjernholm; 13 aunts and uncles, and several first cousins. Dee is survived by her mother, Lois Freidenberger of La Junta; five brothers, Ron Stjernholm of Aurora; Duane (Carly) Stjernholm of La Junta; Dr. Darwin "Lee" Stjernholm of Parker; Rob Stjernholm of Lakewood; Dr. Dean (Paula) Stjernholm of Dillon, CO; uncle, Dr. Alvin Stjernholm of Lakewood; nephew, Sam Stjernholm of Lakewood; and a dozens of first cousins on both the Stjernholm and Ridennoure sides of the family.
As per Dee's request cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be Sunday, March 21, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the Higbee Cemetery.
