Dorothea E. Langdon-Elder, 96, of La Junta, passed away July 26, 2012 at the Arkansas Valley Regional Nursing Care Center. She was born June 6, 1916 to Albert Allen & Lulu (Court) Gorsline in Denver, Colorado.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of La Junta. She enjoyed gardening, fishing and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Dorothea is survived by her children, Virginia (John) Elder of Hasty, Colorado, Tom (Gillian) Langdon of Bronx, New York, and Jan (Bryon) Alexander of Lampassas, Texas; brother, Robert (Betty) Gorsline of Montrose, Colorado; cousin, Delbert (Charlotte) Gorsline of Greeley, Colorado; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Alfred Langdon, her husband, John F. Elder, a sister and a brother.
Those wishing to do so may make memorial contributions to Evergreen Gardens, Automatic Door Fund, 909 W. 10th Street, La Junta, CO, 81050 direct or through the funeral home.
Peacock-Larsen Funeral Home and Arkansas Valley Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
A graveside service will be Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at 10:00 a.m., at Fairview Cemetery with Reverend Dr. Rex Williams of the First Baptist Church officiating.
Visitation will be Monday, July 30, 2012, from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel.
