Edith L. Kirkland-Liddell

Edith L. Kirkland-Liddell, 98, passed away on May 23, 2017 at her daughter’s home in La Junta. She was born on January 19, 1919 in Canton, Texas to Nolan Alexander & Ethel (Smith) Groom. She married Milton Douglas Kirkland in November 23, 1940 in Clayton, New Mexico; he preceded her in death on July 13, 1969.

She was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church.

She is survived by her children, Douglas (Kathy) Kirkland, Margaret Stone, and Greg (Deborah) Kirkland; sister, Genieva (E.J.) Sprague; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, children, Delilah and Lionel Kirkland; siblings, Alpha, Marlon, Hattie, Leona, Wilma, and Margaret.

As per Edith’s request a private family service will take place at a later date.
