Eloy "Poncho" Salazar

Eloy “Poncho” Salazar, 69, of Swink, Colorado passed away Monday, May 25, 2026 in La Junta, Colorado. He was born August 25, 1956 in La Junta to Alfred, Sr. & Bertha (Urioste) Salazar.

Eloy is survived by his wife, June Salazar of the Swink home; children, Michael (Kandi) Moore of Fountain, CO, & Veronica Salazar of Swink, CO; grandchildren, Michael Moore, Jr., Gabrielle Moore, Rico Carale, Carlos Carale, Louise Carale, Marcus Berg, Jaxon Draper, Maddox Draper, and grand-dog, Willie; family, Joe (Stelle) Carale; Shad (Kristen) Draper; siblings, Anthony Salazar, Alice Martinez, Oclires (Rick) Lovato, Pat (Eugene) Eddy, Loretta Sandoval, Diana Salazar, Tommy (Vicki) Salazar, Joann Madrid, Brian (Ann Marie) Salazar, Jimmy Salazar, & Danny (Janet) Salazar; numerous nieces & nephews also survive. He is preceded in death by his parents & his brother, Alfred Salazar, Jr; along with aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, & nephew, Dennis Smith.

Visitation will be held Monday, June 1, 2026 at Peacock Memorial Chapel in La Junta from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Memorial Service will be Friday, June 5, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the old Swink High School Gymnasium with Joe Carale officiating.
