Elsie Ulloa

Elsie Vigil-Norwood-Ulloa, a native of La Junta, CO. A beloved Mother, Grandmother, Daughter and Sister, passed away peacefully at home in Buena Vista, CO, with her family by her side on Nov. 22, 2017.

Elsie was born May 26, 1939 to the late Megerio and Mercedes Vigil. She is survived by sons, Jonathan and Jason Norwood; brother, Benjamin Vigil; sisters, Edna Juniel and Patricia Ruiz; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was in the education field for 27 years, 12 of those as a Headstart teacher as well as 15 years as a Headstart Director, before retiring in Denver, CO.

Her interest included her grandchildren, attending church, Bible study and eating super hot chili. She lovingly performed the duties as Father and Mother to her sons. She loved to cook. She had an unmatched sense of humor. The family misses her dearly.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, Dec. 8, 2017, 10:00 a.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel.
