Esther E. Mcnerney

Esther E. McNerney, 83, of Olney Springs, passed away Sunday, December 4, 2011 at the Arkansas Valley Regional Nursing Care Center. She was born on October 22, 1928, in Raton, New Mexico to Phil C. & Lillian (Bartholomew) Lewis. She married James R. “Mac” McNerney on March 17, 1952 in Raton, New Mexico; he preceded her in death on September 4, 1988.

She is survived by her children, Ken (Cecelia) McNerney, Kim Edenburn, and Melody (Michael) Roscover; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and three great, great-grandchildren.

Esther was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons, Michael, Phillip, and Pat McNerney; granddaughter, Shelby Roscover; sister, Ludia McElroy; brother-in-law, Keith Edenburn; and sister-in-laws, Debbie McNerney and Linda Eversole.

Funeral services will be Friday, December 9, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel with Pastor John Dell of the First Christian Church in Rocky Ford officiating. Interment will follow at the Ft. Lyon National Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, Dec. 8, 2011, 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel.
