Eva Marie Tyler, 64, of Rocky Ford, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 2, 2026 in Rocky Ford, Colorado surrounded by her family. She was born on September 28, 1962, in Rochester, New York. Eva Marie was the beloved daughter of Maxine Irene (Preston) Kerluke and Henry Bradford Kerluke.
On October 20, 1980, she married her soulmate and high school sweetheart, Kenneth Ray Tyler, in Boulder, CO. Throughout her life, she lived in many different places like Rochester, New York, New Jersey, Arvada, CO, and for a long time in Rocky Ford. In early 20’s, she worked at her Dad’s auto part store, H & B Auto, in Englewood. Eva spent most of her career working for Wallace Oil Company (Phillips 66 in Rocky Ford). She was well known by her customers and community members for her charismatic personality and her listening ear. She was recognized by the City of Rocky Ford, Julie Worley, for her “Upbeat,” friendly, and welcoming gesture when people would come into her workplace.
Eva will be lovingly remembered for her character, compassion, humor, and advocating for her loved ones. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and her beloved dogs, gardening, hosting family gatherings, cooking for an army, camping, spending time outdoors, road trips, country drives, sharing stories, photography, refurbishing old chairs, talking to her sisters, especially her older sister, Anita, shopping at thrift stores, and going to yard sales.
She persevered through life’s many challenges, meeting each one with remarkable strength, resilience, and grace. After the tragic loss of her mother, Maxine Preston, at a young age, she learned to navigate life without her mother’s guidance and presence. Growing up without her mother shaped the woman she became, instilling in her a deep appreciation for family, a strong work ethic, and the courage to advocate for herself and for those she loved. Through every hardship, she continued to move forward with determination, carrying with her the lessons, values, and enduring love that shaped her life.
Eva is survived by her husband of 46 years, Kenneth Tyler. Her daughters, Maxine (Michael) Cravens and Kimberly (Paul) Case, and cherished grandsons, William Case, Oliver Case, and Samuel Case. Being a grandma was one of the greatest joys of her life, and the love for her grandsons was unconditional. She is also survived by her sister, Heidi (Bruce) Wharry, brothers-in-laws, Bill (Sandra) Gossett, Doug (Rhonda) Gossett, and many nieces and nephews.
Eva was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Maxine Kerluke (Preston) and Henry Kerluke; and her sisters, Anita Walsh Goggins and Barbara Sletto. She is now peacefully reunited with those she loved and held dear, whose absence she carried in her heart throughout her life.
A memorial service celebrating and honoring the life of Eva Marie will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Freewill Church in Rocky Ford, Colorado with Pastor Daniel Blackwell of Victorious Church of Swink officiating. Following the service, interment will take place at Fowler Cemetery in Fowler, Colorado.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to join together following the graveside service for a time of fellowship and remembrance, as we share cherished memories and celebrate the life and legacy of Eva Marie.
Eva will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her. She will leave a deep hole in her loved ones hearts.
