Gerry Edith Rader

Listen to Obituary

Today we honor the life of Geraldine Edith Brase Rader—a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, devoted daughter, and dear sister Gerry was born to Louis and Virginia (Pierson) Brase in Lamar, Colorado on December 1, 1942.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Judy Connally. She is survived by her siblings, Janice (Gordon) Guihen of Lamar, Dave Brase of Lamar, Barb (Eddie) Hall, and Cindy (Chris) Rundell of Lamar.

She shared 63 years of marriage with her husband, Bruce—a partnership built on love, loyalty, and a lifetime of memories. Together they built a family that became the center of her world. She is survived by her husband, Bruce and children: Mark Rader of Rocky Ford, DeAnn Gobin (Brandon Abramic) of Pueblo West, Blake Rader (Janae) of Kim and Kelli Rodewald (Ryan) of Umatilla, Florida. She was also blessed with eleven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, each of whom she loved deeply.

She married Bruce on August 18, 1962, beginning a lifelong journey of love and commitment.

Gerry was a devoted stay-at-home mom and grandmother who found her greatest joy in caring for her family. She loved showing up for them—always cheering them on at their many activities, especially rodeos. If there was a game, a performance, or an event, you could count on her being there in the bleachers, proudly supporting the people she loved most.

She and Bruce were honored at the 88th Annual Kids Rodeo in 2025 for their lifetime of dedication and support Gerry was steady, caring, and deeply loyal. She showed up for others in quiet, meaningful ways, offering love, support, and presence that made people feel truly valued.

After a long and courageous battle with leukemia, Gerry passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home on April 9, 2026. Her life was rooted in love, and that love lives on—in her family, in the memories she created, and in the countless lives she touched. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
