Helen Bernilda Denton, 78, passed away on May 12, 2018 at her La Junta home. She was born on August 19, 1939 to Thomas & Ramona (Madrid) Aragon in Las Vegas, New Mexico.
She loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed going to senior dances, playing bingo, traveling and visiting with friends.
She is survived by her sons, Frank Joseph (Kelly) Espiritu of Aurora, CO; Larry Matthew Mascarenas of Englewood, CO; Troy Allen (Brenda) Mascarenas of Colorado Springs, CO; daughter, Debbie Villareal of Aurora, CO; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and one great, great-grandchild; siblings, Erlinda Nabor of Watsonville, CA; Isabell Lucero of Denver; Mary Sandretti of Pleasanton, CA; Willie Aragon of Rialto, CA; Margaret (Eugene) Sanders of La Junta; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Frank Espiritu, Lawrence Mascarenas, and Tom Denton; sister, Josie Miranda and brother, Tony Aragon.
Funeral service will be Thursday, May 17, 2018 at 1 p.m. at the Peacock Memorial Chapel with Pastor Mike Beecham of the Crossroads Church in Swink officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel.
