Helen F. Lopez

Helen Lopez, 69, of La Junta, Colorado, peacefully passed away Saturday, October 18, 2025, at her La Junta home surrounded by her loving family. She was born Monday, February 6, 1956, in La Junta to Sadie Sanchez.

Helen was a strong, hardworking woman. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a woman with a big heart that loved everyone with everything she had. She had a house of laughter and love for anyone that stepped within. She enjoyed spending her time either sewing or cooking. She loved her time as a cook at the Copper Kitchen, Thyme Square, and Otero Junior College.

Helen is survived by her husband, George Lopez of the La Junta home; children, Toni (Bryan Antczak) of La Junta, CO; Darrick (Tanya) Lopez of La Junta, CO; and JayDee (Jacob) Budden of Pueblo, CO; grandchildren, Diego Haun & Diondre Lopez; her siblings, Jim Archuleta, Tom Archuleta, Frank Archuleta, Mike Archuleta, Lawrence Gonzales; Pat Romero, and Linda Marmelejo; numerous nieces & nephews also survive. She is preceded in death by her parents, and brother Manuel Archuleta.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held Friday, October 24, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:00 a.m. Both services at Our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Patrick Parish in La Junta with Father Joseph Matitu officiating. Inurnment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in La Junta.
