Jesus "Jesse" Manchego

Jesus “Jesse” Manchego, 69, was born on March 23, 1952, and died on November 11, 2021. The youngest of 11 children born to Juan and Santana Manchego.

Jesse served in the U.S. Army as did his brothers, Fred, Bonifacio, Antonio, and Ramon. Jesse’s father also served in the U.S. Army and fought in World War I.

Jesse enjoyed building things, and he was an avid gardener. He grew some really good cantaloupes.

Jesse is survived by his son Richard and granddaughter Mia, a brother Robert and two sisters Mary Brumfield and Dolores Nakatani. He is also survived by stepchildren Angie and Jarred Archer and step-grandchildren Elijah and Olivia. Jesse's wife Barbara died in early 2024. Jesse is preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers Fred, Bonifacio, Antonio, Jose and Ramon and sisters Mary Gonzales and Jane Rodriguez.

Graveside Service will be held Friday, June 13, 2025 at Rocky Ford Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor John Dell of First Christian Church of Rocky Ford officiating. Military honors will be performed by American Legion Post #8 of Rocky Ford, Colorado.
