Justin Jay Martin, 55, of La Junta, Colorado passed away Sunday, October 6, 2024, at Memorial Central Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born Tuesday, October 22, 1968, in La Junta to Gail & Sharon Martin. 

As a very young boy, Jay developed a love for riding dirt bikes. He became quite accomplished at it, even being sponsored by Kawasaki for a portion of his career. He passed that love onto his kids. His family loved traveling to Colorado every year. On one trip back to Colorado he built a track in the back pasture for the kids to ride motorcycles. He loved watching his kids play sports and taking them on vacation to Colorado, Utah and Las Vegas every year. He was so very proud of his children and all their accomplishments.

Justin is survived by his wife Brenda Martin of Eastvale, CA; children, Andrew Jongeneel of Chicago, IL; Nicholas (Diana) Jongeneel of Eastvale, CA; Steven Martin of Eastvale, CA; and Emily Martin of Eastvale, CA; parents, Gail & Barbara Martin of La Junta, CO; siblings, Robert (Stefanie) Martin of Fowler, CO; and Letti (Steve Walker) of La Junta, CO; nieces, Hannah (Michael Hernandez) Martin, Claireanna Martin, Megan (Scott) Wiker, and Ashley Yergert; nephew, Trevor Jay Bishop; and great-nephew, Tavis Hernandez. He is preceded in death by his mother, Sharon Martin; and his sister Paula Bishop. 

Graveside services will be Friday, December 20, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery in La Junta.
