Kathryn Valdez Miller, 63, died Friday, November 1, 2019 at her home in Rocky Ford, surrounded by loved ones. A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, November 9 at 11:00 a.m. at the Rocky Ford Church of the Nazarene.
Kathryn was born August 9, 1956 to Selestino and Irene Valdez (Casados), the second of four children. She graduated from Rocky Ford High School in 1974. After high school she married Bobby Torrez in 1974 and had her 2 sons.
She worked numerous jobs including the City of Rocky Ford where she worked for several years. While working for the city she met Richard Miller the two got married in 1996. Kathryn became a big part of the Rocky Ford Elks Lodge #1147. She traveled the state and parts of the country with her husband Richard as he held different seats in the Elks. Kathryn enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons, Michael (Yvonne) Torrez of Rocky Ford and Adam Torrez (Holly Pacheco) of Rocky Ford; 10 grandchildren, Shayla, Zeke, Malachi, Dahntay, Nayoka, Deseray, Tino, Celeste, Faith, and Grace; two great-grandchildren, Sophia and Edward; sister, Frances (John) Madrid of Rocky Ford.
