Larry Elmer Trujillo, 67, of Manzanola, Colorado, passed away on August 26th, 2025, at Adventhealth Porter hospital in Denver. Born on March 31, 1958, in Rocky Ford, Colorado, Larry was the cherished son of Alfonso and Perfelia Trujillo. A devoted father and a loyal friend, Larry dedicated his life to hard work in construction while always putting his family first.
Known for his easygoing nature, pleasant spirit, and sharp wit, Larry brought laughter and light to those around him. Whether helping a neighbor or cheering up his loved ones with a well-timed joke, Larry's presence made every day brighter. With a true passion for building, Larry’s hands were seldom still—a testament to his spirited and active lifestyle.
Larry’s memory lives on in his children, Sandra Trujillo of Aurora, CO; Lawrence (Annette) Trujillo of Oak Harbor, WA; Jeffrey (Kea) Trujillo of San Diego, Vince (Desiree) Trujillo of Pueblo West, and Misty (John)Padilla Guerrero of Rocky Ford. His grandchildren, Gavin Bryant, Vince Trujillo, Baylee Trujillo, Xavier Trujillo, Xander Trujillo, Manuel Padilla-Rocha, Katrina Padilla-Rocha and siblings, Catherine (Thomas) Martinez of Pueblo, CO; Elaine Trujillo of Manzanola, CO; Jose(Gloria) Trujillo of Denver, CO; Sharon Valencia of Pueblo, CO; Charles(Eva) Trujillo of Lakewood, CO; Julia Ornelas of Rocky Ford, CO; Albert (MaryAnn) Trujillo of Manzanola, CO; Lawrence (Irene) Trujillo of Lakewood, CO; Delfinia Trujillo of Pueblo, CO; Annette Martinez of Center, CO; Richard (Joyce) Trujillo of Center, CO. Brother-in-Law Ernest(Teto)Encinias of Manzanola, CO.
He was preceded in death by his Beloved Parents Alfonso (Perfelia) Trujillo; Siblings Felemon, Lucia, Rita, Bertha and MaryAnn; Brother-in-laws Tomas Valencia, Fermin Ornelas, and Walter Martinez.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held Saturday, August 30, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Both services at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Rocky Ford, with Father Joseph Matitu of Our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Patrick Parish; La Junta officiating. Interment will follow at Mountainview Cemetery in Manzanola, CO.
