Lena Bernice Ortiz

Lena Bernice Ortiz, 72, passed away on February 7, 2018 at her La Junta home. She was born on September 17, 1945 in Trinchera, Colorado. She married Benjamin R. Ortiz, Sr. on July 24, 1965; he preceded her in death on October 19, 2004.

She is survived by her children, Denise Ortiz of La Junta; Benjamin Ortiz, Jr. of Indiana; Sean Ortiz of La Junta; five grandchildren; siblings, Corina Ortiz of Fruita, CO; Luci Gonzalez of Northglenn, CO; Rick Gomez of Wheatridge, CO; numerous nieces & nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Joseph & Bauidilo Gomez.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Calvary Cemetery with Father Henry Wertin of Our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Patrick Parish officiating.

In lieu of flowers those wishing to do may make memorial contributions to the Ark Valley Hospice, PO Box 408, La Junta, CO 81050 direct or through the funeral home.
