Leo Mark Perez

Leo Mark Perez, 55, of La Junta, CO passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2024, in La Junta. He was born Thursday, August 7, 1969, in La Junta to Jose “Joe” & Cecilia (Medina) Perez. 

Leo was an avid outdoorsman. He was always ready to hook a monster catfish at night. Leo most enjoyed big game hunting with the boys. 

Above all, God was most important in Leo’s life and came 1st! With God’s presence, Leo was most at peace. 

Leo is survived by his mother, Cecilia Medina; wife, Anita Perez; children, Mark (Paula) Perez, Steven (Anjeanette) Perez, Matthew Perez, and Brandi Velasquez; grandchildren, Steven, Jr., Cienna, Adam, Mariana and Lucas; niece & goddaughter, Emma DeLaGarza; nephew & godson, Jack DeLaGarza; godchildren, Elijah Whatley & Carlos Lopez. Leo also leaves behind his sister, Margaret (Daniel) DeLaGarza. He is preceded in death by his father, Jose “Joe” Perez. 

Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held Tuesday evening, September 24, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. with Father Joseph Matitu officiating. Both services will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Patrick Parish in La Junta. Interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery in La Junta.
