Louis E. Perez

Louis E. Perez, 55, passed away on December 3, 2021, at the Evans Army Hospital in Ft. Carson, Colorado. He was born on March 3, 1966, to Isaias Ernal & Mary Agnes (Trujillo) Perez in La Junta. He married Annette Martinez on August 22, 1983.

Louis was a long-time member of Our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Patrick Parish. He attended La Junta public schools. He also attended Northern Arizona University where he received his bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement administration. He served honorably in the United States Army reserves for 23 years and had two tours in Iraq. He was a correctional officer for 23 years as well.

He is survived by his wife, Annette of the La Junta home; children, Louis (Alicia) Perez, Crystal, Victoria and Alexis Perez; grandchildren, Alize, Deavion, Aiyana, Louis James and Kyle Perez; sisters, Patricia (Robert) Beals, Christina (Joe) Vasquez, Phyllis (Dana) Beals. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernal & Agnes Perez.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 6, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel. Inurnment will be at Ft. Lyon National Cemetery Friday, January 7, 2022, at 12:30 p.m.
