Marcos Erminio Guerrero

Marcos Erminio Guerrero, 90, of La Junta, Colorado, peacefully passed away Friday, April 11, 2025, in his family home in La Junta with family at his bedside. He was born April 25, 1934, in La Junta, Colorado to Apolinar & Jovita (Ramirez) Guerrero, and lived a life full of love, service and dedication to his family.

Marcos enjoyed working, whether it was in the fields with his family, the Santa Fe railroad, NIBCO or the Turkey plant in Cheraw. He finished his career with the City of Wichita, Kansas. He was very active with the Catholic Church, always religiously saying the rosary.

Marcos’ favorite pastime was spending time with family, whether it was entertaining at his home with birthday parties or just getting together and having BBQs with all his family at his side.

Marcos is survived by his children, Reuben and family, Marcos and family, Stephen and family, Albert (Louise) and family, Richard (Renae) and family, Norma (Scott) and family and Linda (Marty) and family. As well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Marcos was one of thirteen children and is also survived by sisters Betty, Casamira, Guillerma, Sabina and Jenny. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Delfino, Erminio, Leon, John, Frank, Lupe and sister Pascualita.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be Wednesday April 16, 2025 at 09:30 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Both services held at Our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Patrick’s Parish in La Junta, with Father Joseph Matitu officiating. Interment will follow the Mass at Calvary Cemetery in La Junta.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Arkansas Valley Hospice in Marcos’ honor.
