Margaret Kathleen "Peggy" Carrillo, 60, passed away on February 18, 2020 at her home in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She was born on February 2, 1960 in Trinidad, Colorado.
Peggy spent her childhood in Trinidad till she was about 13 years old. In the year of 1973, the family relocated to Denver, Colorado. Peggy loved Denver as a youth. After growing up there she decided to move to La Junta in 1978. La Junta was the place Peggy called home and was the birthplace for her three children: Benny, Dano-Lee and William.
Then moving forward in 1999 her children and her moved to Colorado Springs. She attended church regularly and volunteered giving back by helping local food bank organizations. In the 2001 she received a citizen’s award from the All-American City of Fountain for the improvements on her home in the local community.
Peggy loved to garden, cook, sing, and spend time with her family and spoil her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her sons, Benny-Ray Carrillo, Dano-Lee Pineda and William Pineda; siblings, Ralph “JR” Colangelo, Randy Colangelo, Josh Colangelo, Jeremy Colangelo, Guy Colangelo, Marla Hensley, Melissa and Jessica Colangelo; and many grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents and several family members. (we love you mom please watch over us.)
A celebration of life service will be held on July 11, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of God, 901 Carson Avenue in La Junta.
