Norman Ralph Fleischacker
June 2, 1932 – November 20, 2021
Norman Ralph Fleischacker, 89, of La Junta, passed away in the family home on November 20, 2021. He was born in La Junta, Colorado on June 2, 1932 to Paul Ralph & Effie (Wright) Fleischacker.
Norman attended school in La Junta, graduating in 1950. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1952, where he spent time in Guam during the Korean War. He served until 1960. He married Delita on July 18, 1959, at the Lutheran church. He worked for Citizen’s Utilities until 1991 at time of retirement. He was involved in various organizations, including the Kiwanis Club, Antique Car Club, and Fort Bent Water Company. During his life, he enjoyed spending time with his family, restoring John Deere tractors, antique cars, attending numerous family sporting events, and hunting/fishing. He was an exemplary man and a good friend to many. Those who knew and loved him, will miss him.
Norman is survived by his wife Delita Fleischacker of the La Junta home; children, Marty (Chris) Fleischacker of Swink, CO; Kay (John Coulam) Williams of La Junta, CO; daughter-in-law, Jerry Fleischacker of La Junta, CO; grandson, Colten (Marissa Imbre) Williams of Coppell, TX, 9 grandchildren; 3 greatgrandchildren; and numerous nieces & nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Howard & Frank Fleischacker; and sister, Jeris Wood.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at 11:30 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery in La Junta with Pastor Kurt England of Valley Community Church officiating.
Memorial contributions can be made to Sangre De Cristo Community Care in La Junta.
