Percy Pete Tafoya

Percy Pete Tafoya, 86, of Ordway, formerly of La Junta, passed away on October 8, 2026, at the Crowley County Nursing Home. He was born on January 4, 1940, in La Junta, Colorado to Esidor & Guadalupe (Sandoval) Tafoya. Percy married Josephine Aragon; she is preceded in his death on January 17, 2021.

Percy loved to go fishing and do wood carving and crafting. He was a family man who loved to spend time with his family.

Percy is survived by his children, Paul (Celina) Tafoya of La Junta, Colorado, Michael (Lorrine) Tafoya of Pueblo West, Colorado & Amy Tafoya of La Junta, Colorado; Grandchildren, Trey Gonzales, Julian Tafoya, Lily Tafoya; niece, Rachel Tafoya along with grandchildren, great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Percy is preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Tafoya, daughter, Betty Jo Tafoya, grandson, Lawrence Andrew Martinez, parents, Esidor & Guadalupe Tafoya & sisters, Ruth & Rosie Archuleta.

Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 16, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at River of Life Fellowship in Ordway, Colorado with Pastor Jeb Brown of River of Life Fellowship officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel in La Junta, Colorado.
