Robert James “Bobby” Perry was welcomed into Jesus’ arms on December 4, 2022, with his wife and daughter by his side. Bobby was born on May 5, 1961, to James Robert “Bob” & Betty Jo (Ewers) Perry in Rocky Ford.
Bobby was a proud Meloneer and graduated with the class of 1981. Bobby went to trade school for truck driving and spent lots of time on the road going from place to place. He especially enjoyed his time working for Gayle and Larry Gardner and Danny Johnson during wheat harvest. Bobby married the love of his life, Laura Quick on August 21, 1990. They welcomed two wonderful children in the following years. Bobby’s true joy came when he became a grandfather in 2011. He spent the rest of his years loving and spoiling his seven, almost eight, grandchildren.
Bobby is survived by his wife, Laura (Quick) Perry of the home; daughter, Jules “Sis” Berg (Justin Martinez); son, Austin Perry all of La Junta. He was the proud grandfather of Natalie Berg, Kami Marshall, Logan Berg, Emersyn Berg, Bentley Perry, Lyla Perry, Jordan Berg, and was excited for his eighth grandchild coming in February. He had numerous nieces, nephews, and loved ones. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob Perry and Betty Zimmerman, his brother Rodney Perry, and childhood friend Craig Butcher.
Celebration of life services for Bobby will be Friday, December 9, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at the First Church of the Nazarene with Reverend Dr. MJ Romano of the First Presbyterian Church of La Junta officiating.
