Robert "Wolf" Lucero

Robert "Wolf" Lucero, 70, of La Junta, CO passed away August 2, 2026 at his La Junta home. He was born June 11, 1956 in Pueblo, CO to Carlos & Elizabeth (McGrath) Lucero.

Robert proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. After his service, he moved to La Junta, where he built a career with the City of La Junta Wastewater Treatment Plant, working there for more than 30 years, and raised his family. Robert was a simple, easy-going man who loved fiercely — his family always came first, above all else. He loved riding and working on his Harley, and could just as often be found behind the wheel of his Jeep. He also carried a quiet pride in his country and a deep respect for those who served alongside him.

Robert is survived by his children, Sabrina (Patrick) Lucero Ortery of Phoenix, AZ; and Brandi (Justin) Crosson of Florence, OR; 6 grandchildren, 3 honorary grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren; sisters, Christine (Vance) Gibson of Florence, CO; and Carla Radloff of Pueblo, CO; stepmother, Bonnie Lucero; numerous nieces & nephews also survive. He is preceded in death by his parents, Carlos & Elizabeth Lucero; and brother Jeff Lucero.

Celebration of Robert's Life will be held Thursday, August 13, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at First Church of the Nazarene in La Junta officiating by Reverend John Dell of First Christian Church of Rocky Ford, Colorado. Military Honors presented by American Legion Post #9 of La Junta.
