Ronald “Ron” Eugene Hall, 78, of La Junta, Colorado, passed away Thursday, October 8, 2026, in Colorado Springs. Ron was born November 21, 1947, in La Junta, CO to James “Jim” E. Hall and Betty J. Flemming (McGuin) of Cheraw, CO. Ron is survived by his daughters, Allison (Tim) L. Hall-Vanhook and Talor A. Hall, grandchildren, Andrew M. Stokes and Daxton J. Stokes, sisters, Marietta (Terry) Hughes and Carolyn (Rick) Stefani, and numerous other family members. Ron was proceeded in death by his mother Betty J. Flemming (McGuin) and father Jim E. Hall.

Farming helped shaped the early years of Ron’s life, and he frequently traveled throughout this region of the United States on harvest before he even had his driver’s license. Ron attended school in La Junta (class of 1965), receiving his GED prior to enlisting in the service. In 1966 Ron enlisted in the United States Navy where he served two tours in Vietnam as a Yeoman aboard both the USS Bon Homme Richard and the USS Oriskany. After discharging from the Navy in 1969, he spent several years in San Diego, CA. During this time, Ron worked for Bank of America and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.

Ron returned to the Arkansas Valley in the late 1970s, where he met Cheryl A. Lindner of Milwaukee, WI, and the two were married in 1986. Ron and Cheryl had two daughters, Allison in 1987 and Talor in 1991. Throughout his life, Ron was a successful entrepreneur, when he returned to La Junta he began making hand carved signs out of his home, calling the business The Wood Works before opening The Sign Shop in 1983; a business that he successfully ran for 30+ years before selling it to his daughter Talor in 2014. In 2009, Ron also open The Railyard, which he owned and operated until his passing. In the 90s and early 2000s, Ron was also deeply involved with community and civic engagement within the City of La Junta, striving to make the community a stronger and more vibrant place for people to live.

Over the last decade, the highlight of Ron’s life was his grandsons Drew and Dax, and he could be found out to breakfast with them on most Saturday mornings. Ron could also frequently be found at The Barista, where he enjoyed talking politics, philosophy, religion, and life in general while enjoying a cup of coffee. While he hid it well, Ron had a kind heart, wanted the best for everyone and cared deeply about the La Junta community, his friends and family.
