Shirley Mae Sterling

Shirley M. Sterling, 89, of Las Animas, Colorado, passed away on March 30, 2026, at the Bent County Nursing Home. She was born on April 4, 1936, in Jackson County, Minnesota to Marion and Matilda (Rosenbrook) Allen.

Shirley is survived by her daughter, Susann Sterling of Las Animas, Colorado; daughter -in-law, Bertha Sterling of Carlsbad, California; grandchildren, Kimberly (Ben) Martinez of Oceanside, California, Angella Sterling of Vista, California, and Rodney James Sterling, Jr. of Brookyln, New York; Great- grandchildren, Isabella, Josiah, Nathan and Claire; nephew, David Sterling and sisters, Willi and

Shirley is preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie E. Sterling; son, Rodney James Sterling, Sr. and her parents, Marion and Matilda Allen.

Graveside service will be held at the Fairview Cemetery at a later date.
