Susanne Wadleigh

Susanne Wadleigh, 87, passed away on April 20, 2017 at her La Junta home.
She was born on August 11, 1929 in Varnsdorf, Czech Republic to Herbert & Angela Schmidt. She married Ralph N. Wadleigh on July 23, 1960, in Cheraw; he preceded her in death on Sept. 15, 2008 .

Breeding and racing thoroughbred horses was Susie's passion.

Susie is survived by her sons, Mike (Sharon) Wadleigh of La Junta and Les (Lori) Wadleigh of Aurora, CO; grandchildren, Bryce (Lexi) Wadleigh of Allen, TX, LaNae (Bryce) Pittsenbarger of Greeley, CO, Morgan Wadleigh of Ft. Collins, CO, Zach Wadleigh and Olivia Wheatley of Aurora; great-grandchildren, Brogan Pittsenbarger and Rowen Wadleigh; brother, Walter Hannelaure) Schmidt of Zurich, Switzerland; numerous nieces and nephews survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brothers, Bushel & Michael Schmidt.

Graveside service will be Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Fairview Cemetery in La Junta with Father Henry Wertin of Our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Patrick Parish officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday,. April 24, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel.
