Susie Martinez, 72, of Las Animas, Colorado, unexpectedly passed away Monday, December 8, 2025, in Las Animas. She was born May 26, 1953, in La Junta, Colorado to Benny & Zenaida Sandoval.
Susie is survived by her husband Cruz Martinez; children, Marian (Jim); Trinity, and Christopher; grandchildren, Lily, Brandon, Matthew, Emma, Kira, and Taya; great-granddaughter, Ariyah; sister, Teresa; brother, Raymond; numerous Godchildren, nieces & nephews also survive. She is preceded in death by her parents, Benny & Zenaida, and brother, Benjamin.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held Friday, December 12, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Both services at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Las Animas, CO, with Father Jay Gapayao officiating, along with Father Dennis Dugan & Father Joseph Matitu. Interment to follow Fort Lyon National Cemetery in Ft. Lyon, CO.
