It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Tom Pulido, a devoted patriot, loyal friend, and deeply loved family man whose legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Thomas R. Pulido, 75, of La Junta, Colorado passed away July 2, 2026, in La Junta. He was born April 4, 1951, in California to Pete & Renona (Howard) Pulido.
Tom answered the call to serve his country with honor, courage, and unwavering dedication. His time in the military was a source of great pride, and the values he learned through his service—integrity, selflessness, and perseverance—remained with him throughout his life. He loved his country fiercely and was grateful for the opportunity to serve.
Outside of his service, Tom was a passionate fan of the Oakland Raiders. Through every victory and every tough season, his loyalty to his team never wavered. Game days were more than just football—they were traditions filled with excitement, laughter, and memories shared with family and friends.
Above all else, Tom’s greatest love was his family. He was a proud father, a loving grandfather, and a steadfast source of strength for those he loved. His family was the center of his world, and he never missed an opportunity to show his love through his guidance, support, humor, and unwavering presence. The lessons he taught, the stories he shared, and the love he gave will continue to inspire generations to come.
Tom is survived by his son, Eric (Cindy) Pulido of La Junta, CO; grandchildren, Gena (Troy) Padilla of La Junta, CO; Eric Jr. (Shelly) Pulido of Burlington, CO; Jesse (Kylie) Pulido of Calhan, CO; Devany Vigil of La Junta, CO; and Sandra (Josue) Jimenez of Denver, CO; great-grandchildren, Braylee, Sebastian, & Lucas Padilla; & Landon Jimenez; siblings, Anna Zerega, Peter Pulido, Mary Covington, and Demetria; numerous nieces & nephews also survive. Tom is preceded in death by his parents, Renona & Pete Pulido and siblings, Christina Beck & Tommy Pulido.
Tom will be remembered for his kind heart, his quiet strength, his sense of humor, and his unwavering loyalty to the people and causes he loved. Though his absence leaves an immeasurable void, his memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him.
Funeral Service will be held Friday, July 10, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel in La Junta with Paul Anderson officiating. Interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery in La Junta with military honors given by American Legion Post #9 – La Junta.
A Memorial will be held for Tom at La Junta Intermediate School at a later date.
His life was one of service, love, and dedication. A life well lived and one that will never be forgotten.
Rest easy, Tom. Your watch is over. Thank you for your service, your love, and the countless lives you touched. You will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.
