Vernon Gonzales

November 24, 1970 — December 4, 2021

On Saturday, December 4, 2021, our world was saddened by the passing of Vernon Gonzales. Vernon's memory still lives and breathes, and his voice still echoes in the back of everyone's mind. Joe Vernon Gonzales was born on November 24th, 1970 and was the youngest child of Joe and Jennie Gonzales. He was born in La Junta Colorado. Vernon's passions were wrestling, hunting and his children: Devin, Jasmin, and Rio.

Vernon graduated from La Junta High School and had a great wrestling career. Four-time placer at the Colorado State Wrestling Tournament. Vernon followed up his High School career with just an amazing college wrestling career. Vernon was a three time all American wrestler with Western State College.

Hunting took a close second to wrestling for Vernon. Hunting stories were always heard from him. It did not matter the season, the animal, or sport. Vernon always came home with his tags filled and new stories to be told. (Exaggerated)

The only thing that trumped wrestling and hunting was his love for his children, Devin, Jasmin, and Rio. The pride and love for his children was evident in his eyes. As they would light up as bright as the stars in the sky. No matter how near or far apart, Devin, Jasmin, and Rio were always in his heart. His children were the loves of his life.

His passing will leave a huge void in the hearts of his family, relatives and all that know him and called him friend. May Vernon have enteral peace
