Viola G. Fischer

Viola G. Fischer, 95, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2026, in Rocky Ford, holding the loving hands of her daughter Vicky and granddaughter Katie. Viola was born on March 28, 1931, in New Kirk, New Mexico to Patricia (Gonzalez) & Maximilian Lopez Griego. Viola married Clarence Fischer of forty years; he preceded her in death on September 24, 2024.

Viola lived a life filled with vibrant colors and deep love. For many years, she was the proud owner of Laurine's Flower Shop in Pueblo Colorado, where her creativity helped many customers and family members celebrate not only life's special moments, but brought comfort during difficult ones. To Viola, flowers weren't just a business, they were her way of sharing beauty and joy.

Viola truly cherished her family. Her favorite holiday was Thanksgiving, a time that mirrored her generous heart and her love for togetherness. She took joy in having a full house, lots of food and laughter, but especially lasting memories.

Those who new Viola, knew her love for scratching lottery tickets, Cripple Creek and Bingo, all of which she loved including her family in. Even though Viola was a Denver Broncos fan, during the football season, you would find her cheering on Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.

Above all else, Viola cherished her family. Nothing brought a brighter smile to her face than having her loved ones gathered around her, sharing stories and filling the room with love and laughter. Her strength, warmth, and beautiful smile will be missed beyond measure.

Viola is survived by daughter Vicky and special son, Chris Grinstead, her favorite child John, "My Juan" and her Honeybee Karie Saiz, daughter Linda (Lee) Sokol. She is also survived by her brother, Ernie and his wife Nereyda, which was a special sister to her, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Viola is proceeded in death by her parents, two sons, Fred and Bill. Siblings, Juanita, Dolores, Danny and Sonny, and her husband of 40 years, Clarence.

Honoring her wishes, no formal service will take place. Instead, her family encourages everyone to spend extra time with their loved ones, cook a warm meal, share a good laugh, and cherish every moment together just as she did.
